Cupcakes with ice cream centers…does it get any better?!

We are so happy to introduce you to a guest writer for The Cupcakes Club~ Malaika King, age 13.  Malaika contacted us and suggested a post about the power of organic foods.  Organic fruits, vegetables and yes, even cupcakes! Malaika and her sister are members of The Cupcakes Club and their mother is owner of  Alchemy in Hartford,Connecticut, an all organic vegan/vegetarian restaurant where Malaika makes all organic vegan cupcakes! Why Organic fruits and veggies?

Organic fruits and vegetables are not only better for your body, but also better for the planet. Why? Because non-organic fruits and vegetables have chemicals, pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and GMO’s that farmers spray and inject into them that get into the earth. What is a GMO? A GMO(Genetically Modified Organism)is a term used for crops that are genetically altered using technology. The molecules are altered in such a way that it makes the appearance to be like normal fruits and vegetables. The problem is that GMO’s are not proven to be safe for human or animal consumption.
