Falling for a Queen

Saturday, October 24th, 2009

zoomimageOMG…so I’m a little nervous about tonight. There’s a hoedown dance and they’ll announce the Queen of the Fall Festival. I’m only in 6th grade so I really don’t know if I can get any votes besides sixth graders. My mum designed a cute mini dress and I’ll wear it with leggings, boots, and a scarf all wrapped around–the dance is outside so it should be perfect. WEll, wish me luck! I’ve never done anything like this before! Jada

Fall Festival

images Our school is going to have a Fall Festival on Friday and Student Council is in charge. We are making it like a hoe down/barnyard with hay bales and we’ll all be wearing cowboy hats, boots, and jeans. You can dress up like anything and there will be lots of carnival games and there’s even a Fall Queen and King…Jada was nominated to be Queen and we are SO excited for her! Good luck Jada!!! Talk soon everyone, Valentina

CAN you do it?

Wednesday, October 7th, 2009

donations Our school is having a canned food drive for the food bank in town and I think it’s a great idea! Each class is competing with each other and so far our 6th grade class has 200 pounds of cans! Isn’t that amazing…and it’s going to all go to families that really need it. Does your school do anything like this? If not–maybe you could organize a great event like this…CAN you do it?! thanks! Jessica

We had our last cross country practice this week and the coach invited us over to her house for spaghetti dinner! It was really fun and we all got awards and certificates. I never thought I could ever run for miles at a time…but I did!  I think if you want to try to do something you should go for it. You’ll never know if you don’t try, right?Summer

Cookbook and kitchenware

I’m in a cooking class this semester and I really like it! I know how to make enchiladas and tacos but I’m not very good at baking and now I’m starting to learn. Do you like to cook? Are there cooking classes at your school where you create menus and prepare a meal? Bon Appetit~ Valentina

My teacher, Ms. Blakey is the best teacher ever. She’s funny and she really listens to you. But-such a BAD day- Ms. Blakey is out today and we had such a BAD sub!  She is mean and such a *snoresville* -so boring -and the worst part is she fell ASLEEP in class…she’s even boring to herself! Sometimes substitute teachers are fun but this one gets an “F”.  Hopefully the rest of the day will go better, Jessica

runningshoes

I started up my cross country training once more. Geesh…I’m beat! We are running uphills, downhills, through the woods and neighborhoods…and we average about 4 to 5 miles…and it’s just the FIRST WEEK! I know it’ s all good and it does give you a great time to *think* about the day, solve any problems, and plan for tomorrow. Do you all do any sports?
