Horsing Around

The 135th year of the Kentucky Derby horse race will be held Saturday, May 2nd in Louisville, Kentucky. The race is known in the United States as “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports” and is also called “The Run for the Roses” for the blanket of 554 roses draped over the winner. People go to enjoy the race but also to gaze at the elaborately decorated hats that racegoers wear.
Have you ever been to a horserace? Do you have a favorite hat you would wear? Send us a pic and we’ll post it!

I’ve never been to a horserace. If I went to one I’d probably whip up a hat of my own. I love to go to Michaels craft store and experiment with all the items they have there.
